Manipur Police lost one rifleman in encounter with militants

Security forces have recovered arms numbering about 423 arms and 6697 Ammunitions

Imphal:In the line of duty a rifleman of the 5th MR HeisnamJiten Singh lost life. The state government has assured that all benefits will be given to the family of the deceased as per the government rules. Chief Minister,Ministers and MLAs paid floral tributes and expressed sincere condolences to the bereaved family.

There were encounters taking place in outskirts of the Imphal valley suspected to be between Kuki militants and Manipur Police commandoes.

As Manipur slowly moves towards normalcy, curfew is relaxed for 7 hours in various districts with many people coming out for normal activities. Surveillance is on with continuous deployment of forces as well as relief measures continue to be taken up and being monitored at the highest level.
