Agartala: The Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU), the labour front of the CPI(M) has decided to go for a resistance movement to prevent attacks by the ruling party. This was decided in a two-day meeting of the state council held on Saturday and Sunday in the state office of the organisation at Office Lane.

Tapan Sen, All India General Secretary of the organisation in a press conference said the working class is under attack in every field in the state as the RSS-run government is keen only to serve the corporate houses and to protect their interests. State President of CITU Manik Dey and Secretary Shankar Datta also was present.

He said the working class is under attack in the whole country since the BJP government came into power and Tripura is no exception. They virtually declared war against the labourers, farm workers, small traders, employees and teachers, he said adding that a massive resistance movement is the only way for these people to survive.
