Imphal: The Meitei Resurgence Forum (MReF) has come out all guns blazing against the dreaded Kuki militant outfits alleging that they started this carnage to fulfill the objectives of Kuki drug lords.

MReF has also lashed out at the politicians and intellectuals for marinating an eerie silence on the ongoing violence in Manipur. However, at the same time, MReF has also condemned the reaction unleashed by the Meiteis on Kukis and asked them to refrain from carrying out such mindless violent activities.

“The Kukis carried out the attack on the Meiteis in a pre-planned manner. This conspiracy has been hatched by the illegal immigrants from Myanmar, Mizoram and Bangladesh,” MReF alleges.

Taking a dig at All Tribal Students Union Manipur (ATSUM) in association with Indigenous Tribal Leaders Forum (ITLF), Manipur Tribal Forum, Delhi (MTFD) took out a tribal solidarity march MReF has alleged that they carried out this rally with a hidden agenda.

“Devastation wreaked havoc at Torbung, Waikhurok, Torbung Bangla, Torbung Gonvindapur, Sabal Maning and Mamang leikai, Kangvai and Phubakchao. The Kukis carried out mindless violence in these areas and the common Meiteis have suffered a lot,” reads the MReF press release.

MReF further asserted that till now systematic attacks are carried out in areas like Toronglaobi, Bishnupur district. “The Meiteis have been moved out from their ancestral land like Churachandpur. The Meiteis have no place to go now. There is a huge conspiracy behind this violence,” MReF says.

The MReF reiterated its stance stating that the entire conspiracy was scripted by the drug lords and had nothing to do with Meiteis’ demand for inclusion of their names in the list of Scheduled Tribe.
