Imphal: As per sources from Indian Army vehicular movements laced with essential items have been restored in trouble-torn Manipur under the watchful eyes of the security establishment.
However, the security forces are not leaving any stone unturned and are constantly watching the moves in Manipur through drones.
“We are committed to taking Manipur back to its pre May 3 stage and for this we are prepared to go to any length. Since May 15, around 130 vehicles carrying essential items, food grains, medicines and other vital items entered Manipur through various highways” the defence spokesman said.
Both the Army and Assam Rifles are working in close coordination in the violence-hit state, sources said.It needs to be mentioned here that the vehicular movements on NH-37 commenced from May 15 onwards.
Steps are being taken to ensure that the state doesn’t face any sort shortage of essential items from food to medicines. The ethnic violence in Manipur has so far claimed more than 70 precious lives.
The Central government too is monitoring the situation over here from Delhi. A few days back Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh went to Delhi and apprised the union home minister Amit Shah of the prevailing situation in his state.
Shah assured the chief minister of all sorts of assistance from the Centre in this time of crisis.
