Already more than 70 lives have been lost to the mindless violence and one small misstep may invite more trouble for this tiny Northeastern state

Aizawl: Trouble refuses to stop chasing embattled Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh as the ethnic tribes of Chin-Kuki-Mizo-Zomi-Hmar group in Manipur and tribal MLAs have decided to boycott the incumbent BJP-led government in Manipur.

About 8 MLAs, including non-Naga tribal organisations recently attended a consultative meeting in Aizawl on Wednesday where they reportedly had a threadbare discussion on the violence in Manipur.

It was resolved at that meeting the tribal bodies will stand united at this critical juncture. It was also decided that they will hold talks on a wider scale and will not engage the state government of Manipur.

As of now it could not be known as to whether the meeting could reach any formal conclusion regarding the aforementioned issue.

At the same time it will also have to be borne in mind that there are various tribal groups in Manipur and the Nagas too constitute a good number.

Meanwhile, BJP government in Manipur too is treading its path very cautiously. A few days back 10 Kuki MLAs—out of which 7 were from the ruling BJP demanded for a separate administration of the Kukis as they alleged that it has now become untenable on their part to stay with the Meiteis in Manipur.

Normalcy is yet to retun in Manipur. Already more than 70 lives have been lost to the mindless violence and one small misstep may invite more trouble for this tiny Northeastern state.
