Guwahati: Mystery surrounding the death of controversial cop of Assam police Junmoni Rabha took a new turn on Wednesday when an eyewitness claimed that the truck which collided with her Maruti Alto hit her intentionally.

Undoubtedly this is a very serious charge and Assam police needs to investigate this case thoroughly.

The late cop had a very decorated career as she took the dreaded criminals head on and earned the sobriquet of ‘Lady Singham’ based on the character of Ajay Devgn starrer film–‘Singham’. 

The witness said that ‘I saw the truck hitting the Maruti Alto from the opposite direction with full speed.’Mention needs to be made here that Rabha had an altercation with a sitting Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Amiya Kumar Bhuyan following her strict action against a few boatmen and her alleged ‘mistreatment’ with the ‘aides’ of Bhuyan.

This incident created a hullabaloo across the state and even the chief minister had to issue a statement saying, “The elected representatives will have to be respected.”

Cutting the long story short this fresh revelation surrounding Rabha’s death will bring the spotlight back on Assam police.
