Shillong: Putting all speculations to rest Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma said that the government has decided to move forward with the decision to reserve the roster system.

“The members have expressed their satisfaction with roster system. So, the government has decided to move ahead and in this regard I will call an all-party meeting on Friday to discuss this issue,” Sangma said.

Sangma further said that opinion of all the stakeholders from the NGOs to religious organizations will be sought before taking a final call on this matter.

However, Voice of the People Party (VPP) is not on board with this decision. The VPP through a press release said that it will hold a protest demonstration on Friday and will make its stand clear after the all-party meet slated to be held on Friday.

It also needs to be stated here that the VPP has demanded to hold all kinds of recruitment till the decision on reservation policy is looked into.
