Student Internship is a very important aspect of any curriculum. Internships or projects are done by technical students mandated in their curriculum. Similarly, each graduate student should come out of their academics with some internship experience. Graduates of any field should have at least six months of some form of work experience which will be an added advantage in the job market.

Recruiters look for some form of past experience and a student can plan his career with some work experience in the form of an internship while they are in their academics. The institution may not be in a position to offer any assistance to get a graduate a job after their graduation but the student will have to get themselves employed. It then becomes their own responsibility to attract a job and get employed immediately.

While one may aspire for higher studies, there is no harm in preparing oneself to get employed from the graduation level itself. Because you are mostly eligible for the job market be it the Government or private sector just after graduation.

In fact, even society (if not parents) expects you to be employed after graduation (or at best post-graduation). Of course, research scholars, technical graduates, or students of higher learning have their own course of development as well as higher opportunities but those who cannot pursue higher studies for whatever reason need to plan their employment goals early.

One of the easiest ways to prepare for employment in any corporate is to have a solid internship experience while in college. The internship could be of any duration and any type and any field, it will have a long term effect on the prospect of employment.

One need not confuse here with academics. A strong academics is very necessary in the long term evolvement of an individual. But to get employed, you also need to be employable. Internships or short term work experience is one of the keys to your first real job besides other skills that an employer may look for.

Skills like communication, presentations, and subject knowledge many candidates may have but only a few will be coming with real time experiences. Those with internship experience involved in the live project will remove their fresher tag. Isn’t it?
