The marching order for former law minister Kiren Rijiju took all by surprise. Well nothing much should be read into it because changing portfolios is the prerogative of the Prime Minister.There are a few points which will have to be borne in mind before jumping to a conclusion regarding the decision to replace Rijiju with Arjun Ram Meghwal.

At a time when the country is just a year away from the general elections, the decision to transfer Rijiju to the earth sciences department has evoked many questions. Rijiju’s views on ‘collegium’ were a bit different from that of the judges of the top court. Is this the reason behind getting marching order from his boss?

This is a mere speculation. But yes one should know the art of beginning and end. Let certain areas remain grey. Let certain areas remain untouched. At the end of the day it will help Indian democracy become stronger and vibrant.
