Guwahati : The harassment and gender discrimination case filed by now expelled Assam Pradesh Youth Congress president Angkita Dutta against her own Indian Youth Congress President Srinivas BV had made Srinivas to appeared before the Guwahati Police on Monday.
Srinivas who arrived in Guwahati in the morning went to the Panbazar Police Station along with Congress MLA Rekib uddin Ahmed and a few lawyers to appear before the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP), (East Guwahati), Moitrayee Deka where he was questioned by the officers for over an hour.
Replying to media quarry he said the case is pending in the court as well as investigation is on and that he has faith in the judiciary.
The Supreme Court on Wednesday had granted anticipatory bail to Srinivas BV. A bench comprising of Justice B R Gavai and Justice Sanjay Karol that granted anticipatory bail to Srinivas and issued notice to the Assam government and others, as the matter will be heard again on July 10.
Angkita Dutta, had lodged a FIR against Srinivas BV at the Dispur police station, on April 19 where she alleged that the Srinavas had made sexist comments and threatened her with dire consequences if she complained against him.
