Many job applicants received appointment letters from the hands of union home minister Amit Shah
Assam chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma took a giant leap on Thursday by holding this job mela at Khanapara. Undoubtedly the programme was more of a PR exercise—despite this the opposition parties will find it hard to counter BJP in the ensuing Lok Sabha polls.
Himanta is a master strategist and he understands the political pulse of the people very well. At present the Congress party in Assam will fail to pose a challenge to Himanta because he has no visible competitor on the ground.
Himanta’s exit from Congress has cost the party very much. In fact the whole of Northeast has gone out of the hands of Congress. One victor in Karnataka will not mitigate the woes of the grand old party.
It will have to do a lot of ground work and needs to spend more time of scripting strategies rather than chasing down Modi all the way. Time is running out and Lok Sabha polls are knocking at the door.
