Fake voters’ id proves illegal immigrant from Myanmar settling in India

Imphal: Manipur issue is no more related to only Manipur but is going to affect the whole of North East India as well as it is a war on India for curving out the land for homeless migrants says the Meitei Leepun chief Pramot Singh at Imphal. Meitei Leepun is a socio-cultural organisation involved in integrating and preserving the Meitei culture.

Their thousands of volunteers had been helping people caught in the ethnic violence that broke out in Churachandpur on the 3rd of May. Meitei Leepun volunteers evacuated a number of people on the ground and in the periphery of valley districts of Manipur.

Narrating that they had recovered evidence in the form of fake voter id cards left on the streets while Kuki people were fleeing and these voters card has the same photo but different names. These were collected in thousand and that such incriminating evidence shows that it is the vote bank politics that has encouraged the illegal migrants getting settled in India.

Pramot also strongly highlighted that these migrants do not speak Manipuri, Hindi, or English. Who are these people and where from they have come they do not know. While reacting to the issue of separate administrative setup demanded by Kuki MLAs, he stated strongly that there are only two indigenous communities in Manipur, the Meiteis and Nagas. So how can foreigners ask for anything in the Indian setup?

He said that these are not the problem only of Manipur but of India as thousands of people are going freely to adjoining Assam, Tripura, and other parts of India. When terrorists are attacking innocent villagers with sophisticated weapons, this is a war not waged upon only Manipuris but on the Indian nation as well, says Pramot.

Pramot stated that the 3rd May incident was a preplanned one and that the Tribal communities other than Kukis have been voicing reservations against the ATSUM activities and other Tribals communities now have realised that this is a land issue and has nothing to do with ST status being demanded by the Meiteis.

He also believes that  Meiteis should be able to go to Churachandpur and resettle there as well as others can come and stay in Imphal Valley as Meiteis have been co-existing but they should come with honest mindset and stay united. Both communities should be able to stay in Hills as well as Valley the Meitei Leepun chief asserted.
