Imphal : Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI), an organisation that promotes harmony among all the communities and protects the integrity of Manipur has welcomed the Union Home Minister’s decisions of ensuring the supply of essential commodities to Manipur as well as other packages declared.

Though the visit of the Union Minister was delayed, the spokesperson Athoujam Khuraijam of the organisation also stated that the Manipur violence is not about the ST status of the Meiteis but a different agenda.

He says that if you look into the narrative of the Kuki communities, they first started Tribal versus Meiteis through the ST issue, Chin-Kuki-Zo-Mizo versus Meitei, then changed to Kuki ethnic cleansing, then to Hindu-Christian conflict to now demand for a separate administrative

So the narrative is changing from 3rd May till today. We don’t think that it is a religious issue echoed Athoujam. It is about armed Kuki terrorist groups attacking Meitei villagers.

The general public is losing confidence in security personnel and we are going to give time to them to rectify their mistakes, COCOMI alleged.

Now general Kuki public is not coming out to target Meiteis but it is the Kuki militants who are attacking the villagers. Post Minister of State for Home coming to to Manipur these Kuki militants are attacking the villagers so now it is between the Kuku narcotic terrorist and innocent villagers who are trying to protect their lives and properties, stated the Spokesperson of COCOMI
