Hindutva outfit Bajrang Sena on Tuesday merged with Congress in Madhya Pradesh months ahead of the Assembly polls alleging the BJP had come to power in the state by cheating the people’s mandate and has deviated from the path.

People from Manipur’s Kuki community held a protest outside Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s residence here on Wednesday against the ongoing violence in the northeastern state, police said.

Bajrang Punia and Sakshi Malik, two wrestlers, arrived at the residence of Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur on Wednesday for a truce meeting. The wrestlers have been asked to “fresh talks” by the sports ministry. Days have passed since the wrestlers visited Home Minister Amit Shah at his New Delhi home. The conference, however, was deemed “inconclusive” by the wrestlers.
