Manipur becoming worse during the last 10 days the group of MLAs stated
Dimapur : In a press conference held by Manipur’s 10 Naga MLAs on Friday after they returned from New Delhi where they met the Union Home Minister Amit Shah on the Manipur contentious issue, the Naga MLAs reiterated that Naga areas should not be touched in case a separate administrative set up is decided by the Union Government in Manipur.
Ten Naga MLAs of Manipur cutting across all party lines and met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on June 7 evening. On their way back, they landed in Dimapur because some of the MLAs had to go somewhere again from here, they stated.
The MLAs informed that they all were invited and they had a very meaningful discussion with the Home Minister Shah where the Manipur’s outer MP was also present who happens to be a Naga.
We appreciated Amit Shah for his prompt action to bring Manipur situation under control. We told him that we have been trying our best to bring both the communities into understanding and if possible negotiate with one another to bring the situation into normalcy again they informed in the presser.

They also informed that during their meeting with the Union Home Minister they have also conveyed to him that in the event of any arrangement for separate administration, we have told him very clearly that our Naga areas should not be touched because that has been a contention for many years.
‘As we all know, there have been a lot of issues and problems in the past when separate administration was demanded in Manipur. The same thing we have conveyed to him that in case of such arrangement and avoid further escalation of the situation’ said the Nagal Legislature from Manipur.
“We told him that we should be consulted properly before any arrangement is made and as we have an ongoing peace process. In the event of any arrangement for the Nagas, who would like the arrangement to come as per the peace process that is going on between the Nagas and the Government of India”, echoed the legislature.
