Standing in the queue sharp 7am on Thursday morning, beautifully draped in Manipuri silk saree with black ”moirangphi’ on the border, franchising her maiden right by casting her vote at Tamphasana Girls Higher Secondary School-11/34 Old Lambulane (B) polling station. 

Governor Dr. Najma Heptulla who is the first governor to have her name included in the voters list of the state today exercised her franchise in Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency for the 17th Lok Sabha Election.

It could be mentioned that Dr. Najma Heptulla who was earlier enrolled in New Delhi, moved her voting constituency to Imphal, Manipur, her present place of residence. She is presently enrolled in the Sagolband Assembly Constituency. 

Talking to media personnel’s she stated,’ election should be voted freely without any fear’. She also encouraged all to exercise their adult franchise as it contributes at maximum level in nation’s building and formation of a responsible government.

Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Manipur, S Prashant Kumar Singh, State Nodal Officer – Media & Communication, W. Phajatombi Devi, SDO, Lamphel, Dr. M. Veto Singh and concerned officials were also present.
