Haflong : The People of Haflong in particular and of Dma Hasao in general expressed serious concern over the indifferent attitude of ASTC authority towards Dima Hasao forcing them to think whether the ASTC authority was contemplating to shut the ASTC services in Dima Hasao.

It is learnt that the present Assistant Station Superintendent of Haflong who is the only staff has been transferred without reliever. Earlier, there had been as many as eight staffs at Haflong but now instead of increasing reduced to only one who has to work right from cleaner to Assistant Station Superintendent. With the transfer of the present Assistant Station Superintendent there would be none to look after the station as well as the services.

It would not be out of place to mention that once the Haflong ASTC was having as many as ten services throughout the district and outside the district.

In many occasions, the people Dima Hasao have raised these genuine issues in regards to the ASTC services and also the infrastructure of the station but no concerned authority paid any attention towards the most popular ASTC services for the reasons best known to them. Even the security wall for the station could not be erected till date even after repeated approaches, they alleged.

Talking to the media Pabitra Hapila the only staff of Haflong ASTC Bus station said he has to leave Haflong within two weeks as he was transferred to other place without any reliever. He also said this station requires staffs and proper infrastructure and also security wall around the station.
