Various investors from different parts of the country are going to promote investment opportunities and mobilise resources for the development of FPOs/FBOs in the North East region
Imphal: Central Agricultural University, Imphal in Collaboration with ICAR RC for NEH Region, Deendayal Research Institute -New Delhi, ICAR ATARI Zone –VI, Guwahati, ICAR ATARI Zone –VII, Umiam, Meghalaya and NABARD, organised the 1st North East FPO and Associated Investors’ Conclave 2023 at College of Post-Graduate Studies in Agricultural Sciences, Umiam on June 24.
Dr. Ampareen Lyngdoh, Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Govt. of Meghalaya graced the inaugural programme as Chief Guest and stated that the state government is looking forward to partnering with ICAR and CAU in the state in order to uplift the livelihood of the farming community.
She echoed that CAU should produce students with an entrepreneurial mindset and not only as job seekers.
Dr. Himanshu Pathak, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR who graced as Guest of Honour discussed various achievements in the field of agriculture.
Dr. Anupam Mishra, Vice Chancellor of CAU while welcoming the dignitaries and participants in the mega three day events said that this first of its kind initiative should bring in a paradigm change in the field of agricultural ecosystem in the NE Region.
University, different Central, State agricultural institutions, Agripreneurs/entrepreneurs, Traders, Investors, FPOs/ FBOs, Innovators, NGOs, Start-ups, progressive farmers, students from IIT, IIM, and CAU (I) show\cased their achievements, innovations, and business plan.
FPO/ FBO meet Investors / Entrepreneurs meet, Buyer Seller meets, exhibition and interaction and presentation from reputed experts and students was the major focus on investment in agriculture and allied sector for the region.
