The Marup will send a delegation of peasants’ organisations to the Governor of Manipur and raise the issue up to the forthcoming session Indian parliament
Manipur Loumee Marup opposes the State Level Monitoring Committee constituted by the Government of Manipur as no Farmers’ fronts of political parties are in the Monitoring Committee.
The Monitoring Committee constituted by the Government of Manipur to look into the problems faced by the farming community during the present crisis in Manipur particularly in the 5 valley districts is biased as no peasants and farmers fronts of the ruling and opposition political parties are in the committee proposed as declared at a Press Conference at DIPR Auditorium on Monday by Thounaojam Basanta Singh, Minister of Education and Government Spokesperson of the ruling party. There are peasants and farmers fronts of BJP, INC, CPI, CPI(M) etc.
The Manipur Loumee Marup and like minded peasants organisations will co-ordinate to press the government for a place in the proposed committee by the government. The Marup will send a delegation of peasants’ organisations to the Governor of Manipur and raise the issue up to the forthcoming session Indian parliament which will be commenced on 20 July 2024.
