Haflong : Following information received from DSCR / LMG regarding some unclaimed packets in coach no S1 fitted inside the roof nearby upper berth No 41 of train No 13174 up Kanchajagha Express, RPF and GRP officers and staff attended and recovered 09 packets suspected cannabis / Ganja at New Haflong Station on Tuesday.

On getting information RPF and GRP officers and staff attended on PF NO 1 on arrival of train at 16.07 hrs, and recovered 09 packets suspected cannabis / Ganja from said train as unclaimed which was brought to Parcel office NHLG and weight was taken and found 14.950 kg suspected cannabis/ Ganja. Recovered suspected cannabis/ Ganja seized in presence of available witnesses. No individual was apprehended since the packets were unclaimed.

Value of seized suspected Cannabis is Rs 1, 49,500/- approx. It is learnt that the Seized Ganja would be handed over to GRP / NHLG for further legal action.
