Special order to keep close eyes on Kukis and Meiteis living in Delhi

A special order has been issued by the DCP, Special Branch Delhi to “keep a close watch” on the activities of tribal and non-tribal Manipuri’s residing in Delhi. The order also states that their social media accounts may be closely monitored.

“It is stated that the tribals and non-tribals of Manipur belonging to both the communities of Meitei and Kuki are residing in Delhi mostly in the following areas: – i) Munirka, ii) Safdarjung Enclave, iii) Kishangarh, iv) Patel Chest, v) Vijay Nagar, vi) Burari, vii) Mahipalpur, viii) Khirki Extension, ix) Mukherjee Nagar, x) Sunlight Colony, xi) Nehru Vihar, xii) Gandhi Vihar, xiii) Shanti Niketan, xiv) JNU Hostel, xv) DU main campus, xvi) Rajouri Garden,” the order states.

The order was issued as information has been received that persons of both communities “may clash and attack each other” and create a law and order situation.

The order further states, “Keeping in view the sensitivity of the matter it is suggested to keep a close watch on their activities with proper law and order arrangements and their social media accounts may be closely monitored.”
