Haflong : James Aind, ACS, Additional District Magistrate, Dima Hasao District prohibited the assembly of more than 5 (five) persons and procession/agitations/demonstrations/blockades/sloganeering etc on or near the National Highway 27 or in any part of Dima Hasao District. w.e.f. 24th July 2023 stated prohibitory order issued on Monday.

The order stated that it has been made to appear to me that some specified and unspecified or group of persons or organisations/associations are likely to disturb normal functioning of offices/work sites, movement of public and flow of traffic from Nrimbanglo to Ditokcherra in the National Highway 27 of the jurisdiction of District Magistrate, Dima Hasao District and it is apprehended that such groups of persons or organisations/associations are planning to carry out agitations/demonstrations/blockades/sloganeering etc on or near the National Highway 27 or in any part of the Dima Hasao District which may cause breach of peace and public order and/or disturbance of peaceful movement of public, traffic and also normal activities of local residents and functioning of offices in above mentioned area.

And whereas, the stretch of National Highway 27 from Nrimbanglo to Ditokcherrra is under construction/repair by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the timely construction/repair is vital for the development and smooth movement of public and traffic.

And whereas, it is necessary to take preventive measures to ensure peaceful movement of public, traffic and also normal activities of local residents and also functioning of offices/worksites and smooth construction /repair of National Highway 27 in the above mentioned Now, therefore in exercise of powers conferred upon me under section 144 Code of Criminal Procedure ,1973 .

Further stated that, any person aggrieved by this order is, however, at liberty to appear before him for filing written objection, if any, for cancellation/modification of the order.
