The North Eastern Regional Agricultural Marketing Corporation Ltd. (NERAMAC) has reported a remarkable growth in its annual turnover over the past three years. According to the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, NERAMAC’s annual turnover for the years 2020-21, 2021-22, and 2022-23 stood at Rs. 14.60 crore, Rs. 26.69 crore, and an impressive Rs. 110.62 crore, respectively.
NERAMAC is a Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the Ministry of Development of North East Region, is making efforts to market the agricultural and horticultural produce of farmers and small entrepreneurs of North Eastern Region (NER) and also provides them assistance in undertaking ancillary activities.
NERAMAC primarily undertakes activities in the field of agriculture related input supply to North Eastern States, marketing of Agriculture & Horticulture products from the NER, participation in events to promote NER’s Agri-Horti products, project management for Central/State Government schemes, capacity building of farmers, entrepreneurs, and processing of Agri-Horti products.
NERAMAC’s turnover highlights its successful efforts in uplifting the Agricultural & Horticultural sector in the North Eastern Region and its activities have also directly benefitted a substantial number of farmers and entrepreneurs in the region. Over the past three years, a total of 6,794 individuals have availed the support of NERAMAC.
The detailed list of agricultural and horticultural products marketed by NERAMAC during the last three years includes a diverse range of items, such as fresh avocado, black pepper, fresh ginger, passion fruits, fresh kiwi, and many more. These products have garnered a significant market share, contributing to NERAMAC’s exceptional financial growth.
NERAMAC’s impressive performance in recent years signifies its crucial role in bolstering the agricultural and horticultural sector in the North Eastern Region. With its unwavering commitment to farmers and entrepreneurs, NERAMAC continues to be a driving force behind the region’s agricultural success.
