Diphu : According to recently disclosed information by police, a gang of armed miscreants were arrested by Diphu police who conducted daring robbery in the residence of Promude Hasnu inhabitant of Wailingdisha village located within general area of Doldoli under Diphu police on the night of July 31.
Police have informed that the miscreants were night fully clad in camouflage uniform equipped with 12 bore shotguns. The gang of four broke inside the residence of Promude Hasnu and commanded him to pay rupees seven Lakhs; they warned him of dire penalty if he didn’t comply.
After the incident police rushed to the place of occurrence and launched a massive search operation in all suspected hideouts in nearby localities like Doldoli and Dhansiri and effectively apprehended Abachan Daulaguphu alias Jugu from Mesepbenga village of Doldoli.
Extracting information from arrested Jugu police arrested three other accomplices of the crime; police have identified them as Safa Porbosa, Sandip Sorongphong and Biju Gour.
From the confessional statement of the accused persons police later recovered one factory made Single Barrel Breech Loader Firearm of 12 bore caliber , one live 12 bore cartridge, one camouflage jacket, four mobile handsets, one Maruti 800cc car bearing registration number AS 01Y- 1684 , Rs.7160/- cash and one TVS motorcycle bearing registration number AS 09D-0174.
A case has been registered in Diphu police station (C/ No 84/23 U/S 120B/448/386/506/34 IPC R/W sec 25 (1) (a) Arms Act). The arrested persons are residents of the Daldali area covered by Diphu police station.
