Nagaland and TN governors ensure to study of over 250 displaced students from Manipur

Governor, Miss Anusuiya Uikey strongly believes that all concerned will keep continuing extending their help till the situation is completely normalized

Imphal : The governors of Nagaland and Tamil Nadu have assured to extend the requisite assistance to the students who are displaced owing to ongoing ethnic violence in Manipur. This was stated by the Manipur governor Miss Anusuiya Uikey in a press communique issued by the Raj Bhavan on Monday.

Miss Anusuiya Uikey, Governor of Manipur was/is deeply concerned about those students who are pursuing their higher studies/professional courses, etc., in different parts of the country since the unprecedented ethnic clash that broke out on May 3, 2023.

In order to ensure that the academic pursuits of students from the State of Manipur are not affected/disturbed, Governor made an appeal to all the Governors/Lt. Governors/Administrators through demi-official letters to ensure the safety of those students who are pursuing studies in their respective States. 

Most fascinatingly, all the Governors/Lt. Governors/Administrators reciprocated that necessary arrangements have been made to ensure the safety of those students and their academic pursuits are not affected.  On behalf of the people of Manipur, Governor has expressed her gratefulness to all the Governors/Lt. Governors/Administrators for the invaluable cooperation extended to the students of Manipur at this critical juncture. Governors of Tamil Nadu and Nagaland assured to extend the requisite assistance to those students in Tamil Nadu (20 students) and Nagaland (238 students) whenever the necessity arises.

Governor, Miss Anusuiya Uikey strongly believes that all concerned will keep continuing extending their help till the situation is completely normalized.  Further, she also believes that whenever the necessity arises, those students can approach the respective Governor’s Secretariats for help which they will certainly comply with. Manipur has been on the boil for the past 3 months and hundreds of students were among the 60, 000 displaced persons taking shelters in different relief camps. (The end)
