Imphal : To create awareness about the importance of healthy lifestyle, proper diet and fitness, Karkinos Manipur Cancer Institute and Research Centre in association with Manipur University organized a Free Health Awareness Programme at Manipur University Health Centre on Wednesday.
The Program was attended by Prof. GNK Chhetry, Dean, School of Agricultural Sciences, MU; Prof. Ch. Ibohal Meitei, Centre for Entrepreneurship & Skill Development, MU; Dr. Lamabam Pinky, Medical Officer, Health Centre, MU; Dr. B. Gokulchandra, Dental Surgeon, Health Centre, MU along with teaching and non-teaching staffs and students of the University.
Cancer Risk Assessment and Screening (Head & Neck and Gynaecology) was also organized for the people at the program. A highly experienced Medical Team of Head & Neck and Gynaecology Department was present to conduct the cancer screening program.
ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) Cards were also created for the students and staffs at the program. Dr. (Prof) G.S. Moirangthem, Director & CEO, Karkinos Manipur Cancer Institute and Research Centre said, “I would like to thank all the Dignitaries and teaching & non-teaching staffs of the University for attending the program.
I am really glad to see many students who are here to be a part of this health program. I would also like to urge people to get regular health checkups done so that they can avail timely treatment if any disease is detected, and maintain good health to fight different types of diseases including cancer.”
