All students conveyed their Sanskrit Learning experiences
As the World Sanskrit Day is celebrated on Sravani-Purnima to promote Sanskrit, the world’s oldest language, the Department of Sanskrit of Cachar College had organized a programme ‘Sanskrit Day and Rakshabandhan’ on 30th August 2023 for encouraging the college students.
The celebration started with lighting the lamp before goddess Saraswati. The chief guest Dr. Deepshikha Sen, Librarian, Cachar College highlighted the significance and relevance of Sanskrit language. After enjoying the different performances in Sanskrit she appreciated the students of Department of Sanskrit.
All students conveyed their Sanskrit Learning experiences. On this auspicious occasion all uttered the Samkalpa-mantra ‘Pathami Sanskritam Nityam’ etc., which was led by the Students Udit Sinha, Nepal Das and Ujjal Nath. Then, Pragya Deblaskar spoke about importance of Sanskrit.
Two first semester students Khushi Barua and Kaberi Acharjee presented their dance performances in Sanskrit Songs. Student Subhajit Bhattacharjee and Rajib Chakraborty articulated the Srimadbhagavadgita-Shloka and Saraswati stotra respectively.
And in the last part of the programme, the students of the Department of Sanskrit celebrated the Rakshabandhan and tied the Rakhi in the hands of all members present along with all faculty members of Cachar College.
The programme was hosted by Nayana Goswami, Assistant Professor, Department of Sanskrit, Cachar College, Silchar, Assam.
