Imphal : A joint team of Assam Rifles and Special Operations Group (SOG) of Manipur Police launched a search operation in the Gwarok foothills area of Thoubal district, Manipur during the past 24 hours. The operation was launched following credible intelligence of the presence of weapons and war-like stores in and around the Gwarok foothills was fruitful, a defense wing statement said here on Wednesday.

One Self Loading Rifle (SLR), two grenades, and other war-like stores were recovered in the vicinity of the Eco-Tourism park in the Gwarok foothills. The recovery arms and bombs have been handed over to the concerned police station for further legal proceedings, the statement added.
