Humtsoe encouraged farmers to take the training seriously as it would enhance their knowledge and skills in the production sector

The North Eastern Regional Agriculture Marketing Ltd (NERAMAC), under the Ministry of DONER, Government of India, in collaboration with the Wokha District Entrepreneurship Task Force (ETF), organized a skill training program on fruits and vegetables processing at Humtso Village on September 5th, 2023.

Special Guest of the Day, Y. Mhonbemo Humtsoe MLA expressed gratitude to NERAMAC and the Wokha District Entrepreneurship Task Force for providing Humtso Village with the opportunity to receive hands-on skill training in fruits and vegetables processing.

Humtsoe highlighted that as one of the leading producers of fruits and vegetables in Wokha District, the farmers of Humtso Village stand to greatly benefit from this program. He encouraged farmers to take the training seriously as it would enhance their knowledge and skills in the production sector.

Humtsoe also shed light on various government schemes and programs aimed at uplifting the rural economy and the common people. He emphasized the government’s commitment to implementing these schemes through different departments and urged farmers to implement them judiciously to bring about positive change in the community.

Humtsoe mentioned that Humtso Village has been selected as one of the aspirational villages in the district and assured the villagers of upcoming programs, including the construction of a storage house and road improvements.

DC Wokha Ajit Kumar Ranjan, who also chairs the ETF, commended the efforts of both the central and state governments in implementing schemes and projects for the benefit of the general public. He highlighted the support given to farmers through initiatives like the Chief Minister Micro-Finance Initiative, which provides training, financial assistance, and transport assistance. He urged all departments to ensure the judicious implementation of schemes and projects earmarked for Humtso Village.

Bhrigu Medhi, Deputy Manager at NERAMAC, explained that NERAMAC primarily focuses on marketing agricultural products and providing skill training in fruits and vegetables processing. The training program aims to benefit three villages: Humtso, Phiro, and Old Riphyim. NERAMAC, in collaboration with ETF, agreed to provide a 40-day training program for farmers, with participants receiving certificates upon completion.

During the program, short speeches were delivered by the heads of offices regarding the implementation of various schemes and projects earmarked for Humtso Village as part of its aspirational village status. This included contributions from the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), General Manager of the District Industries Centre (DIC), Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer (SDAO), and the ADC for Planning & Transformation.
