Imphal: Meitei Leepun, a socio-cultural organisation based in Manipur has issued a public notice regarding illegal collection of donations taking the organisation name from shops and offices by some unknown miscreants in Imphal.

In a press statement issued, Meitei Leepun informed that it is not collecting any money from the public as donation. ‘We are supported by our well wishers and friends who believe in our cause’, stated the media statement.

Further the statement read that ‘Recently we have come to our notice that some people who are not related with Meitei Leepun are collecting  donations from Shops and Offices.

We would like to reiterate to the general public not to entertain any unknown person or individual who comes for collecting  donations, stated the organisation.

Further it warned that, through this press release we would like to warn the perpetrator not to collect money from the general public in our name. If any individual is caught doing such nefarious activities, he shall bear responsibility and liable to face legal consequences.

The organisation requested the general public to inform them if anyone comes to collect any money and, or lodge a complaint to the nearest police station.
