Imphal : Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Saturday said that the state is passing through a difficult time but expressed his confidence that it will be normalized very soon. CM Biren stated this in a statement issued by the CM Secretariat on Saturday.

The prevailing situation in this strife-torn state is improving to a certain extent, Biren said stressing that with the support and cooperation of people including civil societies and others, we are on the path to bring understanding among the communities and towards peace.

Reiterating that efforts are on to find a solution and bring peace at the earliest, the CM sought further support from the people and said that the public must have also witnessed the opening of national highways, deployment of security forces in sensitive areas, and efforts to ensure availability of essential commodities in all districts.

Due to the unfortunate (communal carnage) crisis that started on May 3 between the Meiteis and Kukis, the State has lost some three to four months, he said, adding that to make up for this, there is a need for government employees to put in more effort. Despite the loss, we need not be disheartened, he added.
