Haflong : Former Asst. Director Handloom and textile, Pauramduing Jeme ceremonially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party, Dima Hasao district committee Atal Bihari Bajpaye Bhawan, Haflong on Saturday. Jeme joined the BJP party along with six others in presence of Manab Deka, MLA Lakhimpur, Donpainon Thaosen, Dima Hasao BJP’s district president, Rupali Langthasa, BJP General secretary, Bimal Hojai, Deputy Chairman, DHAC, Golonjo Thaosen, EM, Nipolal Hojai, EM Ramgalungbe Jeme EM and other senior members of the party.

District president Donpainon Thaosen said that joining of the former government officer have made the party more stronger and also added that more people from different constituencies will join the party soon from the mandal level.

Jeme who is also a Retd. Cultural Officer, Deputy Director Town and Country planning etc. said that he joined the party since he himself was involved and seen much development in the district during the tenure of the present BJP led Dima Hasao Autonomous Council in reaching the remotest villages of the district and successfully implemented projects and schemes when people needed the most.

He added that through the party he could remain connected with the people and serve them accordingly, while strengthening the Bharatiya Janata Party at the same time. Jeme is a popular person in various sections of people for his unquestionable sincerity, honesty.

Once he held as many as 11 departments as Officer in charge. His simplicity and capacity for bonding with the people of grassroots level, he is always found among the people in their needs. Joining of such person in BJP party added more acceptable for the masses.
