Governor shares pains and grief for those killed and injured in security actions
Imphal : Governor of Manipur Anusuiya Uikey on Friday visited the families of two students who were killed by the Kuki miscreants after their photographs surfaced on social media on September, 25. The governor at the residences of the killed students in Imphal consoled the parents of the two students and gave water to the mothers who were on fast for many days.
During the visit, the Governor expressed her sorrow and pain and shared her condolences to the bereaved families. She said that she understood the sentiments of the people and informed them that a CBI inquiry had already been initiated in this regard and assured them that action would be taken against the perpetrators as per the law.
The governor shared her grief for all those students who were injured during the agitation. While briefing the media, Uikey appealed to all the parents to advise the students to peaceful forms of agitation and not to take the law into their own hands as injuries from such agitations will have a lasting impact on the future of the students.
Later, Uikey visited the injured students who had sustained serious, minor injuries during agitation and met their parents at Shija Hospital, Langol, and handed over some financial assistance. She wished them a speedy recovery and assured required medical assistance.
