As the state is currently going through a period of unrest with the sad situation for all of us, artists were appealed to go to the relief camps and use their tools about the plight of the children.

The appeal was made by the Governor of Manipur Miss Anusuiya Uikey while speaking at the inaugural ceremony of Thoithoiba Mayanglambam’s Solo Art Exhibition “Saknairabasingi Liklu Pareng” held at Imphal Art College on Friday. She said art is an effective and useful tool for mental health. It improves the quality of life and it helps us understand our world. It is an essential part of our culture as art helps us understand our emotions and sensations deeper.

Governor said, like language, art is also a form of expression. Its message may be symbolic or religious, historical or political. The purpose of art is not just to transmit a message, but more importantly, to elicit an emotional response. Ms. Anusuiya Uikey continued that painting has always had a special place in human life. The artist does not look at happiness, sorrow, crisis, success, and failure with ordinary eyes. His vision penetrates the essence of things, finds many forms in one, and shows them as they are.
