The CorCom has been observing October 15 as National Black Day
Various underground outfits on Wednesday called a total shutdown on October 15 to protest the merging of the princely state of Manipur with the Indian Union on October 15, 1949. The Coordination Committee (CorCom), an apex body of six banned outlawed groups gives a total shutdown of 12 hours in Manipur (Kangleipak) from 6 am on October 15. The CorCom has been observing October 15 as National Black Day.
Socialist Revolutionary Party (SOREPA) Kangleipak also called total shutdown from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the day. In a statement, the Publicity and Organization Secretary of SOREPA said that the armed group will support all organizations and revolutionary groups of the region standing against the forced annexation of Manipur.
Essential services including Media, Electricity, water supply, fire brigade, medicals, and rituals-related activities will be exempted during the total shutdown, the press statements said.
CorCom called upon all the ethnic groups to promote peaceful co-existence and collective development and to wage war against India collectively.
The CorCom is a conglomerate of six Valley-based militant outfits – the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP), Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL), People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK), its Progressive faction (PREPAK-Pro), Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF, the political wing of the People’s Liberation Army- PLA), and United National Liberation Front (UNLF).
