Nagaland Flower Growers Society founded in the year 2006 has grown from strength to strength under the leadership of Kaisa Rio, the first President of the society said Sungtinaro Jamir, the present President of the society at the Bloom Bazaar at the Heritage Kohima started through the initiative of Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN). She informed that many educated people are involved in the cultivation of plants and flowers as a profession in the state and are doing very well.

The association organises the sales of flowers to showcase the various plants and flowers to encourage them and are able to get respectable earnings. She echoed that some lawyers, and engineers are also involved in the cultivation of plants and flowers.

The President of the society showered appreciation to IDAN for giving them a common platform where they could showcase different varieties of produce and hoped that IDAN could provide a permanent location so that they could sell more. Out of their forty five registered growers around thirty are able to participate in the Bloom Bazaar due to space constraints. IDAN provides the space free of cost for two days on Friday and Saturday of the week. 

She said that the response is good many growers are able to do crisp business and the people of Kohima are yet to know more about the Bloom Bazaar and hoped that more footfall will take place.

Nagaland Flowers Growers Society has been supported wholeheartedly by Kaisa Rio, the lady wife of the Chief Minister of Nagaland and she is now the advisor of the society. The organization has been participating in all the major events organised by the Horticulture Department and also participated in International competitions bringing laurels to the state.

Though the concept of Bloom Bazaar is an innovative initiative to promote entrepreneurship in the state by IDAN some of the growers and visitors echoed their concern about the entry fee that is being charged to the visitors which might be a bottleneck to getting more footfall as initial more footfall will make the venue popular and help increase sales. Even food stalls in the Bazaar have been complaining about low sales. 

Narola, the General Secretary of the Nagaland Flowers Growers Society said that the growers are able to do a good business and that the flowers grown are also organic in nature, many are indigenous to Nagaland which attracts people more. One of the growers said that the initiative by the society and IDAN is helping them sell more and the platform provided is beneficial to the growers.
