The body of a 38-year-old man was found within the premises of Dhana Manjuri College in Manipur’s Imphal West district on Saturday afternoon, according to police reports.

 Identified as Takhellambam Rakesh, a resident of Yiaiskul Chingakham in the same district and the son of Ibochouba, the victim was found with gunshot wounds.

 He was known to be associated with the Life Insurance Corporation of India’s Imphal branch.

 The victim’s body was found lying in a pool of blood with apparent bullet injuries to the head, near the periphery of DM College, Imphal.

 The body was spotted by students, who promptly alerted the authorities. Upon arrival, the police recovered a firearm and a vehicle near the deceased.

 The deceased was then transported to JNIMS Hospital, Imphal East, where his body was deposited for further proceedings.

Police have initiated an investigation into the incident and have registered a case.
