Assam police are actively pursuing four suspects accused of abducting and gang-raping a 15-year-old girl in a moving car in Cachar district.

This heinous incident, which occurred on February 15, only came to light when the victim’s family reported it to the authorities several days later.

“One of the perpetrators, a 30-year-old married man, was acquainted with the girl,” stated an Assam police official.

“He had recently purchased the vehicle and lured the girl to meet him on the evening of February 15. Upon her arrival, they forcibly took her into the vehicle and committed the crime,” the official said.

Authorities have successfully identified all four suspects, and a dedicated search team is actively working to apprehend them.

A case against the accused has been filed at Kachudaram police station in Assam under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) including 376D (Gang Rape) and 363 (Kidnapping), as well as the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO), informed a police official.
