The Sikkim government, led by chief minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay, has given the green light to the creation of 22,746 posts for regularization across various departments.

 This decision comes ahead of the upcoming Sikkim assembly and Lok Sabha elections slated for this year.

 Currently, individuals holding these posts are employed on a consolidated pay basis, as stated by Sikkim chief minister PS Tamang-Golay.

 Among those set to be regularized are personnel serving as home guards, village guards, nurses, ICDS-Anganwadi workers and helpers, as well as ASHA workers.

 Expressing his satisfaction, Sikkim chief minister PS Tamang-Golay announced the cabinet’s decision, emphasizing its significance in stabilizing the employment status of those currently engaged in temporary positions.

 Additionally, the Sikkim education department will see the regularization of 1948 posts for pre-primary, primary, graduate, and post-graduate teachers.

 Furthermore, temporary employees who completed four years of service by December 31, 2023, will also benefit from regularization, a move previously announced by the Sikkim CM.

 Tamang underscored the far-reaching impact of these initiatives, highlighting their role in providing substantial support to families in need and boosting the confidence of regular staff.

 He emphasized the government’s unwavering commitment to uplifting underprivileged families by creating employment opportunities that foster economic stability and prosperity.

 The Sikkim chief minister reiterated his government’s vision to ensure every member of underprivileged families secures a livelihood to support their households, emphasizing the importance of economic empowerment and well-being for all citizens.
