In a productive meeting led by Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, the Manipur cabinet passed nine crucial resolutions today, impacting various sectors across the state.

 The upcoming state Assembly session, starting February 28th, will see the tabling of the Manipur Goods and Services Tax (Six Amendment Bill) for updating the state’s GST framework and the Manipur Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (Fifth Amendment Bill) to modify the state’s fiscal management approach.

 Additionally, reports of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, Revised Estimates for 2023-24, and Budget Estimates for 2024-25 (Vote on Account) will be presented before the Assembly.

 Following the Supreme Court’s order, the cabinet approved implementing recommendations of the second National Judicial Pay Commission for Manipur’s judicial service, effective January 1, 2016. This move aims to address concerns about judicial compensation.

 The College of Nursing, Manipur, will receive two new faculty positions – one Professor and one Associate Professor – to comply with Indian Nursing Council norms. Additionally, the state-run JNIMS hospital will be expanded with the opening of a Super Speciality Branch in Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care, enhancing healthcare services for citizens.

 The Manipur Labour Laws (Exemption from Renewal of Registration and Licence by establishment) Manipur, Bill 2024 aims to simplify procedures for establishments by exempting them from renewing registrations and licenses.

 Furthermore, the cabinet approved creating three new posts: Translator, Junior Grade, and Registrar, Translation Wing, for the Manipur High Court, streamlining operations and communication.  To facilitate efficient vehicle testing, the cabinet approved the direct purchase of 3.77 acres of land in Imphal East for establishing an Automated Testing Station. This initiative is expected to improve transportation safety and regulations.EduRade represented a concerted effort to catalyze innovation, empower youth and entrepreneurs, and foster socio-economic development through the responsible integration of drone technology.
