The TIPRA party in Tripura has decided to join the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

Furthermore, the Tripura cabinet is set for a reshuffle.

Two leaders from the TIPRA party are expected to be included in the Tripura cabinet.

According to reports, two TIPRA MLAs, including leader of opposition Animesh Debbarma and Brishaketu Debbarma, are likely to join the Tripura cabinet.

This decision of the TIPRA Motha to join the NDA comes just days after a tripartite agreement was signed between the Centre, Tripura government and TIPRA, and other stakeholders, in the presence of union home minister Amit Shah in New Delhi.

TIPRA joining the BJP-led NDA is being seen as a major boost to the saffron party, especially ahead of the Lok Sabha election.
