“Research requires hard work with emotional quotient (EQ) more than intelligence quotient (IQ) which is like a donkey’s work requiring diligent researchers,” believes, Former Vice Chancellor Professor Madan Mohan Goel known as Propounder Needonomics School of Thought superannuated Professor of Economics from Kurukshetra University. He was addressing Online Refresher Programme on `Research Methods: Approaches & Practices’ research methodology organised  by Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Centre (MMTTC)

 on the topic ‘ Challenges in  Research with Ethical Perspectives ’. Professor Mona Khare Director MMTTC welcomed and presented citation on the achievements of Prof. M.M .Goel.

Needo-research in present times calls for analysis of the socio-economic issues before covid (BC) during covid (DC) and after covid (AC) in right perspectives, believes Prof Goel.

To begin the research, one has to understand research design as complete process with accuracy, brevity and clarity constituting ABC of research, explained Professor Goel.

To take care of the needo-research, adopt minimax strategy (minimising the possible loss) and maximin strategy (maximise the minimum gain) in business with professional ethics, explained the Needonomist Dr Goel.

He said that Swami Googlanand (Google.com) has become more relevant than libraries in needo-production of knowledge by the researchers in present times.

To concretise all the crucial findings of the research undertaken, we must learn to write the abstract with policy implications flowing from the results of the study, told Professor Goel.

He said that there is a close relationship between decluttering and manifesting the lifestyle based on needonomics in our endeavours of life to be researched in right perspectives.

To unlock the hidden aspects, we should understand, analyse and interpret the data collected with the help of statistical package of social sciences (SPSS) which is necessary but not sufficient and calls for proper analysis to draw policy implications, believes Professor Goel.  

The quality of research is directly correlated with the infrastructure, commitment of the researchers and can be done by having capabilities, desire and to enjoy it, believes Goel.

To improve the quality of research, the researchers have to be street smart (simple, moral, action oriented, responsive and transparent) with commitment, told Goel.

To minimize the data limitations for research in India, there is a strong case for reducing the time lag between the collection and publication of data on socio – economic indicators and strengthen the data base for future prediction, told Goel.
