The banning of the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Freedom League (JKPFL) and its associated factions, along with the extension of the ban on the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), reflects a proactive approach by the Modi Government in addressing the challenges posed by terrorism in the region. The Union Home Minister’s assertion that the Government will remain unsparing towards individuals and organisations involved in terror activities reaffirms the Government’s resolve to combat terrorism with all its might. The decision to designate these organisations as ‘Unlawful Associations’ for five years is a crucial step in curbing their ability to perpetrate violence and destabilise the region.
