The Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) operated by Punjab National Bank (PNB) in collaboration with the Assam Rural Livelihoods Mission’s Hailakandi District Mission Management Unit (DMMU) successfully concluded a six-day General Entrepreneurial Mindset Development Training Workshop on Sunday at the Community Management Training Center (CMTC) of NRLM located in Rangauti, Hailakandi town.
The workshop, conducted with the initiative of Barak Valley’s leading banks including Lead Bank Punjab National Bank and PNBI RSETI Cachar, provided comprehensive training encompassing business opportunity identification and guidance (BOIG), business studies, market surveys, marketing management, entrepreneurial competencies, enterprise launching formalities, project report preparation, government-sponsored projects, customer care, among others. Additionally, training was provided on Candle Making and vermicompost, mushroom cultivation.
Senior faculty and course coordinators from PNBI RSETI Cachar, including Shahed Chowdhury, Director PNB RSETI Cachar Jagajyoti Bhattacharyya, and domain skill trainer and successful agricultural entrepreneur M.R. Borbhuia, DFE Rinki Das served as resource persons during the workshop.
Speaking at the conclusion ceremony, Director of PNBI RSETI Cachar Jagajyoti Bhattacharyya and District Functionary Expert (DFE) Rinki Das from Assam Rural Livelihoods Mission expressed their gratitude towards the participants and highlighted the importance of fostering an entrepreneurial mindset, especially among the youth. They emphasized the need for proper planning before initiating any business venture. During the conclusion ceremony, Shahed Choudhury, senior faculty at PNB RSETI Cachar Silchar, elaborated on the post-training assistance provided by the institute.
Dr Abdur Razzak Ahmed, the DAO from the Department of Agriculture in Cachar district, stressed the significance of transitioning from job seekers to entrepreneurs, underscoring the limitations often associated with employment. He further encouraged the educated youth to avail themselves of such training opportunities to obtain guidance on starting new ventures with limited capital
The training aimed to equip participants with practical knowledge to effectively manage various aspects of their enterprises, including marketing, production, organization, and financial matters. It was emphasized that upon completion of the course, participants would be capable of initiating new businesses and managing them with newfound perspectives and skills.
In attendance at the event were officials from the agriculture department and a total of 26 trainees who completed the training under the Job Card Unnati scheme & for women of SHG members, MGNREGA 100 days completion beneficiaries and 6 numbers NRLM’s Business Development Service Providers (BDSPs) also attended the training. The ceremony concluded with detailed discussions on Project Upliftment and its objectives.
