This election is about integration of Manipur and not division of the state echoed Amit Shah while in a hurricane visit to Imphal to campaign for the BJP candidate Thounaojam Basantakumar Singh. Addressing a packed gathering here at Imphal, Amit Shah acknowledged that the violent incident has been disturbing in the state and that the Union Government under the leadership of Narendra Modi will never allow the state to disintegrate and shall work to reconcile both communities.““He mentioned that the integrity of the state will not be compromised and promised to fence the border to stop any illegal immigrant occupying the state as well as highlighted that the central government has stopped the Free Movement Regimn.

Taking a dig at the Congress party, Amit Shah said that Congress politics is divisive as they are trying to divide the country into North and South India, indirectly mentioning that the Congress is responsible for the divisive politics.  ““Assuring the people of Manipur that the BJP and Narendra Modi want the development of the state and have not kept any stone unturned to fund the development of the state and the region as a whole.

He also hit Congress and said that they had left North East India undeveloped and didn’t care whereas, Narendra Modi has visited NE India seventy times and Union Ministers have visited seven hundred times.

Seeking votes for Basantakumar Singh, he appreciated his good work as Education Minister and once elected as MP from the state Amit Shah indicated that he would ensure he has an important role to play.

Shah also mentioned  Thounaojam  Chaoba Singh, former Union Minister and father of Basantakumar Singh, a dedicated old-time party leader and noted that he had donated land for the BJP office in Imphal.

While speaking at the BJP office with this correspondent, Chaouba Singh said ‘There is no scope for separate administration in the state and the BJP and the Government want peace’.
