Moments of Quietude…

Moments of Quietude…

As the years turn

They warned me

You will drift

Lonely

Distant

Wrapped in

A shadow’s mist

I didn’t answer

Instead

I chose to lift

Not aging

But growing wise

A tranquil twist…

No, I am not aging…

No longer bound

By others mold

I embrace the self

I’ve come to know

I cast aside

The mirrors cold

Their deceitful reflections

No longer glow…

No, I am not aging…

Selective with where

My time I place

In choices fine

My heart finds grace

Letting go of

What no longer serves

Releasing pain

Breaking old nerves…

No, I am not aging…

Trading revelry

For learning’s quest

Embracing night

With curious zest

I craft my own stories

Cast off the past

Society’s pressures

Fade at last…

No, I am not aging…

Gone are the shadows

From my eyes

A book now graces

Where makeup lies

Wine glasses swapped

For coffee cups

Savoring life’s truths

In each sup…

No, I’m not aging…

My soul is fresh

My heart remains pure,

Discovering each day

A life that’s secure

Holding a cocoon

Of dreams untold

Ready to unfurl

Its wings of gold

A smile blooms

At nature’s light

Birds’ songs accompany

My flight…

No, I am not aging…

I invest my time

In things unseen

In visions vast

My spirit keen

Rewriting tales

Worlds I explore

Forgotten pages

I now adore…

No, I am not aging…

Cautious steps

And wiser tongue

Conversations deep

My heart is young

Nurturing ideals

Shaping my fate

I live my truth

Free from age’s weight…

No, I am not aging,

I’ve begun to embrace,

My inner flame,

With moments of Quietude…
