The Government will be bringing a bill in Lok Sabha to mitigate the stigma, discrimination and abuse against the marginalised transgender population in order to bring them into the mainstream of the society.

Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Rattan Lal Kataria proposed this in a written reply in Lok Sabha on 2July 2019.

The Minister said, that if transgenders are employed in a factory or establishment which comes under the purview of Employee State Insurance (ESI) Act, will automatically get benefits under the proposed act.
