Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on May 1 accused Prime Minister Modi of abandoning the Northeast region. Speaking to MEDIA, Priyanka Gandhi said, “I think PM Modi has abandoned the northeast region.”

Responding to the BJP’s continuous criticism of the Congress party’s manifesto, Vadra defended it, stating that it outlines everything the party intends to do for the nation’s people.

She also accused the BJP of creating a false narrative against the Congress party without thoroughly examining their manifesto.

It is to be mentioned here that Gandhi is here in Assam’s Dhubri Lok Sabha constituency to campaign for Congress candidate Rakibul Hussain.

Speaking passionately at the rally, Gandhi emphasized the rich tapestry of religious coexistence in India, citing her brother’s nationwide rally from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Manipur to Odisha as a testament to the unity of the nation.

However, Gandhi expressed grave concerns over the prevailing political landscape, highlighting the stifling of media and public dissent by the ruling party, which she accused of deviating from the path of truth.

Drawing a sharp contrast between the governance in Assam under the BJP and Congress-led states, Gandhi criticized the alleged prevalence of mafia rule and neglect of public welfare in Assam, where she claimed development had taken a backseat to corruption and favouritism towards big businesses.

Senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Assam government of fostering a “mafia raj” in the Northeast state.

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra launched scathing attack on Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, alleging his involvement in various scandals.

Speaking at an election rally in Dhubri, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra asserted that Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma maintained a covert alliance with Badruddin Ajmal of the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF).

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also criticized the BJP over the sexual misconduct allegations against Karnataka MP Prajwal Revanna, highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s endorsement of him during elections.

Furthermore, she lambasted the BJP on the issue of electoral bonds, citing the party’s exponential financial growth within a decade compared to Congress’ earnings over 70 years.

She remarked, “In just 10 years, the BJP has become the wealthiest party globally, while the Congress didn’t amass such wealth even in 70 years.”

Asserting that PM Modi seemed disconnected from the plight of ordinary citizens and had become egotistical, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra underscored the pressing issue of rising unemployment in Assam.

She accused the Assam chief minister and his cabinet of prioritizing personal gain over addressing the concerns of the populace.
