Atul Bora, the Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Dispur constituency in Assam, did not vote during Tuesday’s ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

According to reports, Bora chose to engage in other unspecified work instead of exercising his democratic right at the polling booth. His decision to skip voting remains unclear, although some speculate it could be related to astrological beliefs.

Voting for the Lok Sabha elections 2024 is currently underway across four constituencies in Assam, with citizens actively participating in the democratic process. As elected representatives, MLAs are expected to lead by example and actively participate in the electoral process. Bora’s decision to prioritize other engagements over voting has drawn criticism from various quarters.

However, Atul Bora has yet to issue an official statement regarding his decision to skip voting in the Lok Sabha elections.
