Infant dies at SMCH admitted with Swine Flu

An infant who was admitted to Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH ) with H1N1 influenza died on Tuesday last. This is the second such case the  four-month-old infant from the Uttarkrishnapur of Cachar district of Assam died at SMCH informed the Joint Director of Health, Dr. Ashutosh Barman.

Another patient Arman Hussain Laskar who was admitted on April 12 when he developed influenza-like symptoms and had tested positive for H1N1 and was undergoing treatment for swine flu. He was declared dead at the hospital On May 7. The origin of the infection strain of the H1N1 remains untraced. Two patients are undergoing treatment as of now in SMCH for the influenza-type syndrome
